Managing director of analytics, David Flandro, at insurtech firm Hyperion X Ltd., states that the global reinsurance market and new start-ups raised around $20 billion of new capital in 2020 and the need for capital continues this year, Artemis reported. Capitalization has proved resilient despite the asset shock that occurred immediately post-lockdown and underwriting losses of $100 billion or more for full year.
